ACURIL (Association of Caribbean University, Research and Institutional Libraries) Conference is amazing. It’s difficult to even try to communicate how amazing the ACURIL community is, and how great the ACURIL conference is, so I’ll share a few photos of the words of the ACURIL song, which we–the ACURILEANS–got to sing together tonight at the opening ceremony. ACURIL is the community who created the Digital Library of the Caribbean (dLOC), and ACURIL is celebrating this 45th annual conference in Suriname. And, ACURIL has a song, which I hope gives at least of glimmer of insight into how incredible, interesting, and impactful ACURIL is.
This year, ACURIL is in the Suriname (I look forward to sharing more news and photos as I learn more about and explore Suriname, which is widely known for its ecological wonders). Next year, ACURIL will be in Haiti in June, and the Caribbean Studies Association will also be in Haiti, June 5-11, 2016, so I’m hoping for great cross-connections and for more folks getting to spend time with ACURIL!
