Thanks to Lourdes Santamaría-Wheeler for sharing the news on the new Panama Canal Trail at UF. From her email:
I am happy to announce that the Panama Canal Trail signs have been installed across the campus. Although a few details will be added in the coming days, including sidewalk signs and brochures, the Trail is open.
The Trail is presented by the George A. Smathers Libraries, in collaboration with Frank C. Townsend, Emeritus Professor, Department of Civil & Coastal Engineering, University of Florida. It is a 1/100th scale transit of the Canal (about 1/2 mile). It will be displayed throughout the year, in celebration of the centennial of the opening of the Canal and anticipation of the opening of the expansion later this year.
A map of the installed locations is available at http://bit.ly/1xRh8Zr. Please visit the trail and share your visit online using #ufpctrail.
