Douglas Engelbart, maker of the mouse, pivotal figure in modern computing, and a great man who worked to make the world a better place, has died. For more on his life and work, see:

I never had the honor of meeting Engelbart. I’ve read so much by and about him, and of anecdotes of others with him that I feel his loss. I hope to continue learning from, building upon, and celebrating his work.
