One of the grant projects I’m working on includes working with a graduate student to develop non-production supports for digital collections and to see how much effort it takes for a graduate student to do this work, documenting the full process to refine templates, create examples, and develop general expectations. This is an internal mini grant and the full proposal is online. The goal is for this information to be used in possibly assigning these non-production activities in classes or for otherwise engaging graduate students in doing the work to support their professional development and general cultural heritage needs related to digital collections. One of the graduate students working with me on this is blogging about her experiences for this project, as well as her other digital humanities related work. There will be much more to come from both of the graduate students working on this project as the semester progresses. It’s very exciting to be working on this project, and to have engaged feedback on the process.
