Colleagues,
You can now register for the Association of Caribbean University, Research and Institutional Libraries (ACURIL) 2018 conference on the official conference website http://acuril2018republicadominicana.com/?lang=en_us which was recently launched. The conference will be held on June 3-7 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The theme for this year’s conference is Open Access in Caribbean Libraries, Archives and Museums: Opportunities, Challenges and Future Directions. ACURIL’s President, our colleague Kumaree Ramtahal, has convened a Programme Committee with a mandate of developing a conference program which highlights Caribbean and global case studies on managing open access issues. These issues will be addressed under four subthemes (Open Access: Global/Caribbean Context; Open Access: Policy, Strategy and Advocacy; Open Access: Professional Development and User Education; Open Access: Innovation and Trends).
The ACURIL 2018 conference offers unique opportunities (The 3 C’s) for Continuing Education (professional development), Contributing scholarly works (submit a paper, poster, workshop presentation) and Collaborating (network with your colleagues from the English, French, Dutch and Spanish-speaking Caribbean).
