POSITION: Digital Production Services Programmer
REPORTS TO: Coordinator, Software Development

JOB SUMMARY
As a member of the Software Development unit, the Digital Production Services Programmer performs duties related to the creation and support of software applications for Digital Production Services Department and develops both web and desktop software applications. This includes software to assist in internal business operations and assist patrons to make full use of library resources. The IT Expert gathers requirements, develops applications, and provides support for digital services and applications.
Perform analysis and programming to develop, document, and maintain computer software programs as needed by Digital Production Services department and other library units as appropriate. The primary emphasis will be on web and database systems which effectively deliver digital resources, track resource usage during digitization, and facilitate the compilation of analytical data (collection profiles and management information).
Design, implement and maintain all relational database components (tables, SQL stored procedures, etc.) necessary for effective data presentation and with respect to product tracking and system security.
Monitor and advise on quality control for data, meta-data and indexing with regard to the Digital Production Services department data workflow. Provide staff training when required.
Liaise between the Digital Production Services department, state entities, and external partners. Coordinates on delivery interfaces which meets the needs of the various organizations with regard to available technologies and research.
Other duties as assigned including programming and analysis activities beyond those that support the
Digital Production Services department.
