The Department of History at Jacksonville University invites applications for TWO tenure-track positions in European, African, or Asian History at the rank of Assistant Professor. The teaching load is four courses per semester, including sections of the introductory survey course on Modern World History in the Core Curriculum and specialized upper-division courses from the candidate’s areas of expertise.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, successful candidates will mentor and advise History majors and supervise undergraduate experiential learning opportunities, such as internships, study abroad, and research projects.
QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates will have:

  • a Ph.D. in History by the time of appointment in August 2018
  • a strong commitment to effective undergraduate teaching, scholarship, and University service
  • excellent written and verbal skills
