Digital Library Federation (DLF) Forum in Atlanta, Oct. 27-29

I’m excited to be attending the upcoming Digital Library Federation (DLF) Forum in Atlanta on Oct. 27-29, and to be presenting with folks from UF and the University of North Texas on our collaborative work.  In addition to very much looking forward to going to DLF, Atlanta is an amazing city, and we’ll be there at an overlapping time with an NEH-ODH visit, which is always exciting.
With it being my first time to DLF and the first time for the whole UF crew (there are 4 of us coming), I was also looking at fun excursions (and short excursions, because we’ll already be busy with loads of DLF-excitement). I was excited to see that the Waffle House Museum (Pearl Fryar, who does amazing work as shown in the documentary A Man Named Pearl goes to Waffle House regularly) isn’t too far from the DLF Forum at the GA Tech Conference Center. The UF crew is traveling together (yay for roadtrips!) from Gainesville to Atlanta, so we’ll have a vehicle and  I’m hoping to inspire all of us to at least consider a quick trip to the Waffle House Museum. Another colleague mentioned Mary Mac’s Team Room as a must-visit for the group.
Atlanta is such a wonderful city with  so many universities, museums, factory tours, and so much more. I’m very excited to be attending DLF in Atlanta, and about roadtripping with colleagues, which is always a great way to get to know folks and it’s so lovely that we get to do it on the way to DLF and Atlanta!
