Thirteenth Annual NFAIS Humanities Roundtable Considers Digital Humanities and Digital Publishing
After a-sell-out event in Chicago in 2013, the NFAIS Humanities Roundtable returns to the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) on Monday, September 29, 2014.  This annual event, now in its thirteenth year, has as its theme Digital Humanities and Digital Publishing: Insights and Opportunities.
As the promise of the digital humanities begins to emerge, new forms of scholarship will have a significant impact on those working in service to research communities across a variety of disciplines. Scholars, librarians, database producers and other content providers will be exploring current and emerging best practices in this context during the upcoming 2014 NFAIS Humanities Roundtable.
Among others, currently confirmed speaker-participants include Chase Robinson, President, The Graduate Center, CUNY,  Beth Bidlack, Director, Burke Library, Union Theological Seminary, and Michael Stoller, Director, Collections and Research Services, NYU Libraries. As always, networking opportunities during the day include lunch and coffee breaks, while there’s a no-host, group dinner in the evening.
There’s still plenty of time to register for either on-site or virtual participation.

  • NFAIS members $175 for on-site participation and $125 for virtual;
  • Non-members pay $195 and $145 for virtual.

A small room block has been secured at Hotel 373 Fifth Avenue for $246/night plus tax. Access the link for making your hotel reservation via the Humanities Roundtable event page at the NFAIS Web site: http://www.nfais.org/index.php?option=com_mc&view=mc&mcid=72&eventId=437932&orgId=nfais
