UF Open Access Week 2012, Call for Posters on Open Access Publishing

Share it During OA Week 2012 – Call for Posters

Share your open access experiences with your colleagues during the UF 2012 Open Access Week celebration:
Oct. 23rd, 10:00 a.m. – Noon, Health Science Center Library
Oct. 24th, from 10:00 a.m. – Noon, Library West
We invite members of the UF community to submit proposals for posters that demonstrate how open access has impacted their teaching, learning, and research.
Examples of possible poster topics are:

  • Use of open educational resources in a UF course
  • How publishing in open access journals has increased impact of specific research
  • How the NIH open access mandate has impacted health research
  • Utilization of crowdsourcing in sharing and review of research (“open science”)

Poster proposals should be no more than 250 words and submitted by September 20, 2012 to Christine Fruin (christine.ross@ufl.edu), Scholarly Communications Librarian, George A. Smathers Libraries.  Please include in your proposal at which event you would like to present. Proposals will be reviewed by the Libraries’ Scholarly Communications Working Group and notifications of accepted proposals will be made by September 28, 2012.
Accepted posters will be printed and set up by the Libraries but must be removed at the end of the Open Access Week event by the presenter.  Completed posters should be no more than 3’x4’.  Posters should be submitted in PDF or PPT (PowerPoint) format by Oct. 15th to christine.ross@ufl.edu.
