UF: Qualtrics Survey Tool Available for Campus Use with Training and Support

The story below is from the UF Information Technology Update (the UF-IT news blog): http://www.it.ufl.edu/news/education/survey-tool-available-for-campus-use/. This is great news for people working with surveys and for folks helping others who are working with surveys.

Qualtrics company "Q" LogoQualtrics, the online survey software, is now available free for all faculty, students, and staff. UF Information Technology (UFIT) purchased a campus-wide license to make Qualtrics, a premium service for creating and delivering online surveys, free for the UF community.
Qualtrics has over 100 question types available in its survey library, including interactive questions that utilize rich media. These features allow survey participants to have a more meaningful, customized experience, thereby increasing the quality and number of survey responses. Users can develop completely customized surveys or utilize Qualtrics’ library of survey templates, questions, and email messages.
A typical departmental annual license costs $2,500, with some larger university units paying $5,000 a year. Under the UFIT-negotiated license the university will see an immediate savings of thousands of dollars. Qualtrics is available for faculty, staff, and both undergraduate and graduate student use. UF-affiliated organizations (DSO’s) are not covered under the campus-wide license.
Log in to Qualtrics by visiting the e-Learning Web site and selecting Qualtrics under the Research Tools category. Create your account and get surveying! UFIT staff is developing Qualtrics training for a roll-out in the Fall term. In the meantime, “Qualtrics University” has some excellent online training videos to help you get started.
